Buffalo Trace has 3 shelter houses and 1 gazebo available for use by our guests. Each may be reserved in advance. If a shelter house is not reserved for the day, it is available on a first come, first serve basis.
This one is next to the Morgan shelter house. Bathrooms and playgrounds are nearby. This shelter house has a large stone fireplace. There is 1 restroom for men and 1 for women.
This one is next to the Main shelter house. Bathrooms and playgrounds are nearby.
This Shelter is adjacent to the lake and beach house. This Shelter House can also be used as a stage for music related and other events.
Beautifully located lakeside, this gazebo is amazing for all sorts of events.

If a shelter has been reserved in advance there will be a sign posted outside the shelter indicating that it is reserved.
Many guests use the shelter houses for annual events like family reunions. If you wish to reserve the same shelter house for the next year you will be given priority if you call the Parks Administrative Offices at 812-738-8236 within 7 days after your event. You must then call the office again after January 1 to make payment which will confirm the reservation.
Any event held on Parks’ property for the purpose of sales or fundraising requires pre-approval by the Parks Board and must be submitted in advance for consideration at the next regularly scheduled meeting of the Harrison County Parks Board.
